Cost allocation lets you map raw cloud costs to the business units, teams, or cost centers that actually incur them. Instead of a single invoice that no one owns, each group sees their share of spend and can act on it.

Allocation rules define how costs flow from cloud resources to business units. Each rule specifies:

• Type — Tag, Resource Group, or Subscription
• Key — the tag key or resource group name to match
• Target unit — the business unit that receives the cost
• Fixed % — an optional fixed percentage split when costs are shared

The Showback Dashboard visualizes cost distribution by business unit in real time. Use it to spot trends, compare periods, and surface unexpected spikes before they hit the invoice.

Generate a Chargeback Report in PDF or JSON format for your finance team. Reports break down allocated costs per business unit for a given billing period and can be scheduled for automatic delivery.
